18 teams comprising HKUST students and alumni achieved remarkable success and received most of the awards at Hong Kong Techathon+ 2025, an event jointly organized by HKSTP and 13 Hong Kong universities and institutions. These teams captured 20 of the 42 awards for their innovative projects, including the Grand Award – New Innovation Award, three Gold Awards, four Silver Awards, one Bronze Award, ten Merit Awards, and the Best Presentation Award.
Eleuto, the recipient of the New Innovative Award and a Gold Award in the Sustainability & ESG category, has developed AI-powered, customizable communication software designed for individuals with speech and language impairments. Project Lead Hyunho UM(SOSC) shared that the inspiration for the project came from his grandfather, who was paralyzed. Eleuto's biggest milestone to date has been helping one individual regain the ability to communicate. The project has garnered significant attention, with Eleuto recently partnering with Meta and Google, gaining exclusive access to unreleased AI models and collaborating with their research team.
Another standout, AIVOICE LIMITED, secured the Best Presentation Award and a Gold Award in the Digital Economy category. This Hong Kong-based company specializes in Voice AI research, with a particular focus on Cantonese Voice AI models. Their cutting-edge technology enhances voice-over efficiency, addresses language barriers, and provides tailored voice solutions for diverse industries. Project Lead Wing Him WONG (ECE) expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is an honor to receive these awards! We will continue to focus on Cantonese to help businesses solve Cantonese voice-over challenges. A big thank you to the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center for supporting us and providing valuable advice."
In the Trusted AI & Data Science category, Cofluence earned a Gold Award for its innovative approach to influencer marketing. The team has developed an AI-powered, all-in-one influencer analysis tool and database management system. Project Lead Yann ZYLBERBERG(MGMT) expressed his excitement, saying, "It was a great pleasure to receive the Gold Award. Winning at the Techathon provides us with the exposure and resources needed to take our startup to the next stage of development."
