The 10th round of HKUST Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) 2023/24 is now calling for application. A total funding of HK$16 million will be offered to technology start-ups formed by HKUST members (Students, Teaching / Research staff,Faculty and Alumni).

Call for Application 

Eligibility:

  • A company registered under the Companies Ordinance for not more than two years (for TSSSU-O) and not more than seven years (for TSSSU+) as of the cut-off date: 1 February 2023;  
  • The company team should consist of any mix of HKUST students, alumni, teaching / research staffand/or professors;
  • The Technology start-up must be owned at least 10% by the member of the University; and
  • The team is required to appoint a person-in-charge (PIC), who should be a member of the University and be responsible for overseeing the operations of the start-up, and liaising with the University on TSSSU related matters; and he/she should hold a senior position in the start-up and can be reached by the University during normal business hours

 

Assessment Criteria:

o     Innovation and technology content of the business;

o     Capability to undertake the R&D work and manage the company;

o     Commercial viability and the business and technology barrier;

o     Social and/or community impact; and

o     Business plan write–up / completeness
