HKUST Startup received Hong Kong Awards for Industries (HKAI)

Avatech Innovation Limited, a startup co-founded by HKUST student LEE Lik Hang, Paul, is awarded the Hong Kong Awards for Industries (HKAI) under the Innovation and Creativity category. The achievement of the company by providing an augmented reality (AR) platform for interactive and gamified learning is recognized.

Avatech Innovation Limited is a Hong Kong start-up information technology company focused on development of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). They currently provide support for STEM and innovative projects in the education sector in Hong Kong. The award has proved excellent performance in the company’s creativity of service concepts, corporate emphasis towards, innovation, commercial viability and its impact.

“Thanks for the guidance of HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, and the atmosphere of entrepreneurship in HKUST has encouraged me.” Said Paul, who is studying a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering in HKUST. His startup is also an awardee of HKICT Awards 2018.
