The director of HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, Prof. Gary CHAN, gave a talk in the first seminar of the Entrepreneurship Seminar Series, with the topic of “The Risk-Taking Value-Creation Entrepreneurial Journey and how HKUST Entrepreneurship Center helps you embark it”. This drew over 300 students to nearly filled up the whole lecture theatre.
During the seminar, Prof. CHAN introduced the risk-taking value-creation mindset for being an entrepreneur with different success stories of game-changing startups, such as Netflix, Google, WhatsApp, etc. “You are better off trying something and having it not work and learning from that than not doing anything at all.” He encouraged students with the quote of Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Facebook.
To support HKUST students with entrepreneurship journey, Prof. CHAN also introduced the resources of Entrepreneurship Center (EC) that can help to build the dream of students. All they need to do is come and talk to EC and EC will help them to walk out their dream with entrepreneurship related programs, potential network and funding resources.
