Perm Soonsawad is a Founder and CEO of Alpha Energy IoT Limited, a fast growing deep tech startup in Hong Kong, developing Internet of Things (IoT)/Internet of Everything (IoE) devices with artificial intelligence (AI), big data, robotics, renewable energy, blockchain, quantum computing and nanotechnology for the development of smart cities. He is also a guest speaker invited by Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) to give talks for international startups coming to Hong Kong and international students from MIT, Standford, NUS, NTU Singapore etc. He graduated M.Phil. in Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) with the Cumulative Grade Average (CGA), 3.80 and 3 research publications in IEEE related to IoT, renewable energy and AI and has taught undergraduate courses in ECE at HKUST. Before he joined HKUST-NIE Social Media Lab at HKUST, he worked as a Consultant in Intellectual Property Management at National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand Science Park for 3 years and a high school Physics teacher at Santa Cruz Convent and has taught Physics, Maths and Science of all levels in international curriculums for 5+ years. He received his M.Sc. in Nanoscale Science and Technology from Leeds University, UK and his B.Sc. with major in Physics and minor in Entrepreneurship from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
