THE COMPANY
August Robotics is a new start-up which builds bespoke robotic solutions to augment and enhance the day-to-day lives of ordinary people.
Over the past generation, the information revolution has meant that software packages and smartphone apps have become ubiquitous in our day-to-day lives, across areas as diverse as shopping, dating and social communication. We believe that over the next generation, bespoke robotic assistants will become equally ubiquitous in people’s day-to-day lives, and August Robotics aspires to be at the forefront of this “robotics revolution”.
August Robotics was founded in 2016 in Australia by Alex Wyatt, and now has presences in China (Hong Kong and Shenzhen) and Australia (Melbourne).

THE ROLE
As the first full-time employee of the company, this role is a rare opportunity for entreprenuerial candidates looking to “get in at the ground floor” of a robotics start-up with extremely ambitious goals for the future.
The first months of the Business Strategy Manager’s tenure will be spent assisting the company in its product prioritisation process, assessing the business merits of the ~10 potential products the company is currently considering:
- Developing high-level business plans for each of the ~10 robotic concepts, and any other potential products that may arise in the interim
- Each business plan will include an analysis of market size and potential, risks, opportunities, high-level financial modelling, potential competitors and an operational roadmap
Thereafter, the Business Strategy Manager will be responsible for fleshing out the business plans of the chosen products, and will manage the implementation of the business plans over time.
The role is based in Hong Kong, but there is some flexibility on location, especially in the initial months, for highly qualified candidates.
