Introduction

As cloud and AI technologies are shaping all industries globally and driving numerous innovations, Alibaba Cloud has launched the Machine Learning Platform for AI (PAI) service to empower AI developers and innovators by lowering technical barriers and development costs.

The Alibaba Cloud Global AI Innovation Challenge, supported by HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, is an open competition for global AI developers, researchers, startups and solution providers to make and/or enhance their products or projects based on machine learning using PAI.

The task of challenge is to use PAI to leverage machine learning to build products or projects. It welcomes innovative AI projects in any field or industries. If you have or are doing a machine learning-based project, register for the challenge now, you can get:

• A $50 PAI coupon to start your model training with CPU/GPU resources for free; an additional $400 PAI coupon if you enter the second round.
• A voucher of Machine Learning Specialty Certification for free
• Chance to win a total of $55,000 in cash prizes and $61,000 in cloud credits

Schedule

The challenge has two rounds, and the top 30% ranked participants in the 1st round will will enroll in the 2nd round. The final awards will be based on the scores of the 2nd round only.

• Sep 16, 2020 : Challenge starts, registration opens.
• Oct 16, 2020: Deadline for 1st round submission.
• Oct 21, 2020: 1st round result announced; 2nd round starts.
• Nov 6, 2020: Deadline for 2nd round submission.
• Nov 13, 2020: Final results announced.
