4 HKUST Teams have achieved outstanding results at Cyberport CUPP 2020/21

Four HKUST teams from different faculties: Chipskate, GOM, KEY (Sparrow) and SIGMA, have been recognized as the winning teams of the Cyberport University Partnership Program (CUPP), in which they have unleashed their potential and gained insights into the global market. The teams have presented excellent business solutions on the Demo Day, in early February, covering areas such as: wealth management, payment technology and virtual insurance. The presentations have brought successful results and rewards —funding of HK$100,000 and an interview opportunity for the Cyberport Incubation Programme (CIP) — for each of the teams to embark on their start-up journeys.

Chipskate and KEY (Sparrow) have progressed even further, by being selected as the winners of The IESE’s Young Talent Path Award. The teams will be attending the Young Talent Path programme and entrepreneurship bootcamp in Barcelona, either this coming or next summer tuition-free.

"It’s very encouraging witnessing the growth and the great achievement of the HKUST students and their teams through this annual Program by the Cyberport in which students from other universities have had the opportunities to learn, exchange and grow together with guidance by leading industry experts and world renowned professors. HKUST Entrepreneurship Center is proud to support the students and the Cyberport in achieving the common goals of preparing talents for the FinTech and entrepreneurship development” said Mr. Donny Siu, Acting Director cum Head of the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center.
