We are excited to announce the successful conclusion of the HKUST Greater Bay Area Youth Entrepreneurship Fund 2025 selection process — a major step forward in supporting HKUST founders as they scale across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The Fund is supported by the HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Entrepreneurship in the GBA, under the Youth Development Fund of the Youth Development Commission and the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB). It is designed to empower young entrepreneurs in Hong Kong to expand their ventures into GBA cities, providing both financial and incubation support.
At the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, we align this initiative with our signature IPIC Incubation Model, which supports startups through every stage of their journey — from Ideation, to Prototyping, Implementation, and Commercialization.
On June 27, 2025, over 20 promising applications were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges, including:
- Prof. Carrie Ling – Director, HKUST Entrepreneurship Center
- Kiki Wang – Co-founder, Vengie
- Winnie Leung – Assistant Director, Information Services Department (ISD)
- David Leung – Managing Director, Office of Knowledge Transfer, HKUST
Applications represented a wide range of industries such as biotechnology, AI and big data, electronics, multimedia, and infotainment. Several teams also delivered live demonstrations to showcase the real-world applications of their solutions. The panel was inspired by the creativity, clarity, and commitment shown by each team.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all selected teams! Each awardee will receive 24 months of incubation support, including tailored mentorship, hands-on training, GBA-focused opportunities, and access to resources that will help them scale in both Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area markets.
This program reflects our belief that innovation thrives across borders — and that with the right support, young entrepreneurs can build solutions that make a lasting impact.
