On 24 June 2025, the HKUST Mentorship Network organized a transformative cross-border mentoring event in Shenzhen, drawing over 30 enthusiastic HKUST students, alumni, and faculty members who are passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Exploring the Power of Prototyping at VTech

The journey began with an exclusive visit to VTech, where participants attended a seminar on "Successful Prototyping and Experience Sharing." The session offered a deep dive into the prototyping process, highlighting key stages in product design, case studies, and practical demonstrations. Attendees gained valuable insights into turning ideas into tangible products — equipping them with the tools to tackle challenges in today’s competitive innovation landscape.

Immersive Theatre Meets Entrepreneurship at Joker Games

Following the seminar, the group visited Joker Games, an immersive theatre startup in Shenzhen co-founded by Miss Jenny DING, current HKUST student and mentee of the HKUST Mentorship Network. Jenny shared her entrepreneurial journey — from founding her startup to navigating the unique challenges of operating a business in Shenzhen while balancing academic life. The visit provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage directly with a peer entrepreneur, fostering real-world understanding and inspiration.
