The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has emerged triumphant in the highly regarded Hong Kong ICT Awards 2023, securing a total of 14 prestigious accolades. Among the wins were one Grand Award, four Gold Awards, one Silver Award, two Bronze Awards, and six Certificates of Merit, showcasing the outstanding talent within the HKUST community. The awards ceremony, which celebrates excellence in the field of information and communications technology.
Cogitact Limited, a HKUST startup, claimed the coveted Grand Award in the Smart People category. The company specializes in the development of innovative solutions for early screening and staging of Alzheimer's disease using blood-based biomarkers. Recognized for their groundbreaking work, Cogitact Limited was also presented with a Gold Award in the Smart Aging category.
Dr. Joyce Ouyang, Managing Director of Cogitact Limited, expressed her gratitude and honor in receiving such prestigious accolades, stating, "We are deeply honored to be the recipients of both the Grand Award and the Gold Award in the Smart People category, specifically in Smart Aging. Aging is an inevitable part of life, and with it often comes memory loss and, in some severe cases, Alzheimer's disease. With our blood test, we can easily detect brain health and objectively capture possible changes at an earlier stage, enabling us to formulate more effective preventive strategies against the risks associated with these conditions."
