HKUST Companies Excel at the Start-Up Express 2024 Event

Seven HKUST startups have demonstrated an exceptional performance during the preliminary rounds of the Start-up Express 2024 event, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. 

 

At this highly curated event, their groundbreaking innovations continually impressed judges, culminating in their spots on the coveted list of top 20 finalists. In addition to this great accomplishment, these astounding HKUST finalists also earned a variety of prestigious awards. 

Vidi Lab

Vidi Lab is a startup that reimagines the way humans interact with different software and hardware products, through the use of AI and intuitive designs. This visionary idea earned them the Techship award, Chan Dang award, and Dream Builder Program Award. 

Libpet Tech

Libpet Tech is a technology startup that creates greater accessibility for individuals with mobility-assistance needs. Commended for their positive societal impact, the company has been recognized with the Chan Dang and Dream Builder awards. 

PointFit Technology

Reinventing health monitoring, finalist PointFit Technology empowers people to understand their bodies better through their sweat-sensing skin patch. With this one-of-a-kind innovation, they were rightfully granted the Techship Award. 

Coalot Tech

Coalot Tech, yet another outstanding HKUST startup, is fighting for a greener world with their passive green energy-saving nano coatings for zero-energy buildings. This ingenious technology has merited them the Techship award. 

Stellerus Tech

Similarly striving for environmental awareness, finalist StellerusTech aims to guide industries in managing climate risk in assets, business, and investment portfolios. With their cutting edge technology, the startup justifiably earned the Techship award. 

PharmCare

An alumni startup, PharmCare, has also been nominated as a finalist for their inclusive technology, which effectively mitigates the challenges the elderly and migrant workers face with medication management. 

XTRA Sensing

XTRA Sensing, a second alumni startup, has been recognized for their revolutionary predictive analytics system that enables the most efficient monitoring for critical machinery.
