Congratulations to Void, a startup company founded by a group of HKUST students, which has successfully attained the Most Innovative Idea Award in HKSEC! It has also attainted Best Student Invention Grand Award and Best Student Invention (Tertiary or above) Gold Award in HKICT Awards 2017.
Combining the knowledge from hypnotherapy, mindfulness, meditation with technology on mobile apps and smart wearables, Void has designed various mini games and meditation audio programs to help people get through their everyday stress since 2015. The application is IoT integrated and self-helping that allows people to have mental health services anywhere and anytime. Not only does Void provide an accessible mental health solution to the society, but also foster a stronger sense of mental health awareness and demonstrate the importance of mental health care to the students and people in need.
“Being grateful no matter in whatever moment. Keep going as long as there is still the way.” said Hercules CHAN, the founder of Void, after receiving the award. He is giving big thanks for the support from Prof. Gary CHAN, who is Hercules’ mentor and the director of HKUST Entrepreneurship Center. Hercules, who describes himself as an ordinary student with stubborn persistence on target given to himself, has some words for HKUST students, “Never give up and keep going in whatever stage after you find your drive.”
The awarding team of 5 consists of Hercules CHAN, Chi Hin CHAN, Chun Yu LAM, Polly CHOW and Ho Kwan TSANG from HKUST. The team has also received the Yeung Wing Yee Entrepreneurs Fund from HKUST Entrepreneurship Centre.
