HKUST Startup SOCIF LIMITED collaborates with HKT and Octopus Card Limited for the HK$65 million contract from the Transport Department

 

SOCIF LIMITED, a HKUST startup company founded by HKUST alumni, collaborates with the Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) and the Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) for a HK$65 million government contract to build the real-time arrival information system.  The system will provide Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) service to 3,500+ public light green minibus for 1.5 million daily passengers in Hong Kong.

SOCIF LIMITED is a B2B technology startup specializing in vehicle AIoT solutions such as in-bus lidar-based passenger counting system (PCS), Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) service for the passenger transit industry. SOCIF serves the transportation and logistic sector in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific regions with clients ranging from the governments, property developers, tertiary institutes to fleet operators. SOCIF has a strong reference in serving the public transport sector by handling thousands of real-time vehicle data, assisting in city transport and traffic planning, and serving millions of daily passengers as a flexible and specialized vehicle AIoT solution partner.

Recently, SOCIF LIMITED also received the HKUST TSSSU 20/21 and entered the HKSTP Incu-app Program 3.0. SOCIF LIMITED is co-founded by 3 members when they were HKUST students. They started their project by developing the Mobile App USTransi‪t to provide Estimated Time of Arrival to the passengers of the green minibuses passed through HKUST campus.
