Two startup teams from the HKUST entrepreneurship community recently achieved outstanding results at the Dare to Change Business Pitch Competition, organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council (YDC). Through innovative solutions and compelling business presentations, the teams demonstrated the creativity, technological capabilities, and entrepreneurial potential nurtured within the HKUST ecosystem.

Among the award-winning teams, Syntrak received the Gold Award for its innovative sports technology solution. Founded by Sze Chun Matthew Lee (SBM), Lai Cheuk Ning (MGMT), and Aidan Chan (CUHK), Syntrak integrates smart garments with real-time artificial intelligence coaching to enhance athletic training and performance. By combining wearable technology with personalized data insights, the team aims to transform how athletes train and improve their performance.

Another HKUST team, IAgreeWithYou, was recognized with the Best Potential Startup & Innovation Award for its educational technology platform, OpenDiscuss. Founded by Tang Man Hei (ISDN) and Chow Chun Yin (ISOM), the startup seeks to redefine DSE examination preparation through an interactive learning platform designed to encourage deeper engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking among students.

The achievements of both teams reflect the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset of HKUST students. Through identifying real-world challenges and developing technology-driven solutions, these young founders demonstrated strong potential to create meaningful impact across the sports technology and education sectors.
