The 2017-2018 Uptown x HKUSTEC E-commerce Challenge has come to a satisfactory close. After the challenge in HK, the three winning teams from HKUST have been sponsored a trip to Seoul on 22-26 January to exchange with Korean startups and investors, as well as visited some prominent e-commerce businesses.

Teams were invited to have a tour in the headquarter of Interpark, an online shopping business in Korea. Having strong interest in the e-commerce field in Korea, teams have discussed on local and global market trends, as well as the application of AI chatbots in online businesses. Teams have also visited the Korea University, COEX, KoVAC and Uptown Seoul.

‘The tour to Interpark has further enhanced our understanding on the potential of the e-commerce market, which would be helpful for designing future business strategies. We will take Interpark as a reference and continue to pay effort in our startup, which may develop in an enterprise in the future,’ said Gary Lam, the award winner of the challenge.

The Uptown x HKUSTEC E-commerce Challenge allows participants to gain exposure on more than 600,000 databases, network with startups on Seoul and the world, and to meet potential investor who may help them to realize your dream.
