Congratulations to PointFit for winning the Grand Prize in ASICS Accelerator Program 3.0 DEMO DAY. PointFit would be in form of a Partnership in product development with ASICS and potential capital investment.
ASICS Accelerator Program aims to support entrepreneurs and create new value through working together with those passionate entrepreneurs. PointFit stood out among 7 startup teams worldwide with their real-time and continuous health monitoring system for precautionary diagnostics through sweat, the nanomembrane technology pioneered by Professor GAO Ping.
"We're excited for winning these awards and thanks to everyone, which includes HKUST Entrepreneurship Centre and Technology Transfer Center, for helping us along the way from the beginning to now," said Kenny Oktavius, Chief Executive Officer of PointFit Technology.
Kenny mentioned that the contest only recruited Japanese start-ups before. This was open to the globe first time. He never imagined he would be the finalist and defeat the team from MIT.
Passion is a key to success. He encouraged HKUST students, “Probably just make sure you are doing what you love. That will give enough motivation for you to keep going during hard times." All team members in PointFit are sports lovers. "So we’re having fun while trialing our devices as well."
