We are pleased to announce the 6th Annual One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition was held on June 1 (Trade Show and Elevator Pitch) and June 2 (Business Plan Presentation).
This year a total of around 100 teams participated which most of the competing teams were composed of HKUST faculty, staff, students and alumni from the schools of Science, Engineering and Business. Judges on the panels of the four round assessments are from leading executives, professional investors and entrepreneurial academics.
After rigorous competition of the 13 shortlisted teams, following awards were given at the Bankers Club on June 3rd Award Dinner:
President’s Prize: Sundial Technology - To develop a self-cleaning and anti-reflection film that boost the performance of solar panels.
2nd Prize: NeoForest - To deliver the real forest air to the cement enclosed space.
3rd Prize: Perfuso - To develop the process of artificially filtering toxicants & metabolic wastes out of blood.
International Team Prize:
Dagann Intelligence Technology - To create the affordable smart life for the customers, to build intelligent projection basic ecological “terminal +content +platform + application”.
Innovation Prize:
Sundial Technology - To develop a self-cleaning and anti-reflection film that boost the performance of solar panels.
Best Business Plan Presentation:
Origami Labs - To develop wearable voice assistant that allows the visually impaired to easily control their smartphones and connected devices through voice control.
Trade Show Winner:
Perfuso - To develop the process of artificially filtering toxicants & metabolic wastes out of blood.
Best Elevator Pitch Prize:
