theBase startup sparkle in Climate Action Recognition Scheme 2021 Grand Final

Breer, HKUST food upcycling startup that reduces bread waste and utilizes it in the brewing of beer, has been recognized in Climate Action Recognition Scheme 2020-21 and awarded an acceleration fund of HK$180,000. 

Entrepreneurship Center takes pride in growing start-ups and sharing in its ups and downs. Breer has gone through challenges, from perfecting the brew, liaising with F&B partners to having business talks. There’s nothing more exciting that seeing our fellow student entrepreneurs further develop their passion and shine in a regional arena!

Climate Action Recognition Scheme (CARS) recognises and invests in innovative and outstanding start-up ideas which take actions in combating SDG-related climate change problems. In the Grand Final on 24 April, the best 3 scalable start-ups are selected and receive funding for incubation and acceleration.
