The HKUST Entrepreneurship Center recently welcomed a delegation of Master's students from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI), one of Chile's leading universities, to HKUST and The BASE as part of their visit to the Greater Bay Area.

For many participants, the visit marked their first opportunity to explore the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. Through campus visits and discussions, students gained insights into the region's technology landscape, startup development environment, and the growing connections between research, innovation, and industry.

During the visit to The BASE, Prof. Carrie Ling, Director of the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, introduced the Center's entrepreneurship initiatives and shared how HKUST supports students and founders throughout different stages of their entrepreneurial journeys, from idea generation and validation to venture development and growth.

The session also provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem and the role of HKUST in fostering entrepreneurship and technology commercialization. Students engaged in discussions on startup development, ecosystem building, and cross-border innovation within the Hong Kong-Shenzhen technology corridor.

The visit facilitated meaningful exchanges between students from Chile and members of the HKUST entrepreneurship community, encouraging dialogue on innovation, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for international collaboration. Through these interactions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how universities can contribute to the development of vibrant startup ecosystems and support the growth of innovation-driven ventures.
