The event “Women Entrepreneurs: Social Innovators” was held by HKUST Entrepreneurship Center on 7 Nov 2019, to help students learn from Natalie Chan & Alumni Fion Leung of their startup journey and see how their startups bring positive social impacts to the community. Around 140 participants deepened their knowledge of Social Innovations in entrepreneurship after attending this sharing.

Natalie Chan is an engineer, corporate professional, film producer, adventure seeker, educator, entrepreneur and a member of the Global Shaper community. Chan's dedication in education was sparked from the realization that there is a gap between schools and the real world. In order to fix that, Chan founded OWN Academy in 2016, as a 21st Century education solution with a focus on talent discovery, personal and professional development. 

Fion Leung is the Co-founder of Time Auction, a tech-enabled charity that connects you with inspiring leaders while encouraging volunteerism. Started as a side project in 2014, Time Auction quickly gained traction among generous donors and young adults. As of April 2019, Time Auction has raised over 50,000 volunteer hours with operations in 7 cities.
