The HKUST Entrepreneurship Center recently concluded an inspiring learning trip to Wuxi and Shanghai, immersing our community in cutting-edge smart manufacturing and the vibrant Yangtze River Delta innovation ecosystem. Beyond insightful industry visits, this journey was marked by significant milestones for our entrepreneurial community, celebrating both institutional growth and the outstanding achievements of our HKUST founders.

In Shanghai, a truly unforgettable highlight of the trip was witnessing the official inauguration of HKUST-InnoBay@Shanghai at the HKUST Shanghai Center, marking an exciting new chapter for our ecosystem.
The excitement continued at the inaugural HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition Shanghai Regional Final. A massive congratulations to HKUST startup team MoSense for being crowned the Shanghai Regional Champion. Watching our founders shine and validate their innovations on this grand stage was incredibly inspiring.



 

In Wuxi, the cohort took a deep dive into the region’s robust robotics and advanced manufacturing sectors. Participants explored the future of intelligent systems and production through visits to RoboCT’s exoskeleton robot production base, a cutting-edge robot hardware company, and the Kaipuyun embodied AI training ground. The trip also included visits to diverse industry pioneers and engaging symposium discussions at the Huishan Life Science and Technology Industrial Park.

This dual-city journey perfectly illustrated the power of connecting academic innovation with world-class manufacturing and regional markets. The HKUST Entrepreneurship Center is incredibly proud of our startups and excited for the future cross-regional collaborations this trip will spark.
