Henri PANG has a Bachelor’s Degree and an M.Phil Degree from IELM (currently as IEDA), HKUST.

He initiated and was involved in various entrepreneurial activities during his time at HKUST including founding a social enterprise, initiating a student design contest, participating in setting up the first Design-Thinking course, and he also worked as a Research Assistant for Prof. Zexiang Li.

After graduation, Henri founded WalnutTech to build electric mobility devices like e-skateboards and e-bikes. WalnutTech was invested and incubated by XbotPark and Clear Water Bay Capital.

Henri has won several world-class design awards such as RedDot Design Awards, iF Design Awards, and IDEA Design Awards. WalnutTech’s product was also honorably awarded by TIME magazine as one of the 100 Best Inventions of the Year in 2019.

Given his expertise in product design and branding strategy, Henri was honored by the Shenzhen government as Oversea High-level Talent (the Peacock Plan) and interviewed by President Xi in person as a Hong Kong youth entrepreneur representative in Qianhai, Shenzhen.

Henri also worked with the largest creative crowdfunding platform in the world, Kickstarter, as its Chief Strategic Representative and Senior Advisor in the Greater China Region. Partnering with Prof. Ping K. KO (former Dean of the School of Engineering, HKUST), Henri establishes the first hardware Venture Lab in China, H3FutureLab, to incubate and accelerate innovative consumer-facing projects.
