Awardee Spotlight: Davon Hui, Co-founder and CEO of BLUTECH.IO

HKUST Alumni Davon Hui leads BLUTECH.IO with a vision to create more efficient and intelligent management for shopping centers, sports centers, and hotels. With features like air quality sensors and accident detection, their smart washroom solution is awarded for its genuine understanding of user needs, combined with its clever and strategic integration of AI resources. 

Awardee Spotlight: Jacky Shin, Co-founder and CEO of Novasdyne

Novasdyne, spearheaded by HKUST PhD student Jacky Shin, seeks to address the imminent global labor crisis by pushing the boundaries of technology. Revolutionizing the medical industry, their MARs (Modular Autonomous Robot System) promotes the efficiency of human-robot collaboration through its autonomous robotics and interchangeable systems. Ultimately, the technology resolves the growing issue of insufficient trained medical personnel in today’s world. 

Awardee Spotlight: Albert Au, Founder of PharmCare

Albert Au’s passion for health technology came to life while developing a management system for a clinic for his Final Year Project at HKUST. At PharmCare, inclusive technology is utilized to mitigate the medication management challenges faced by the elderly and migrant workers. Apart from changing the way community pharmacies manage medication, this platform also gives users access to clear information to better understand their medications.

As one of the most prestigious design awards in the world, the iF Design Award 2024 recognizes only the highest-quality out of nearly 11,000 international entries, assessed by a 132-member jury of renowned design experts. Keeping this intense competition in mind, the success of these three exceptional companies is all the more impressive.
