Jeffrey XU

CTO, Stellerus Technology Limited

This is Weifan Xu (Jeffrey), PhD student in HKUST and one of the founders of Stellerus Technology Limited, focusing on using satellite technology to provide climate tech solutions. During my master’s study at UC Berkeley, I immersed myself in geosystems and sustainability, analyzing human-environment interactions. Later, during my current PhD study at HKUST, I participated and contributed to the launch mission of our university's first satellite mission, HKUST-FYBB#1. Also currently I’m currently participating in a pioneering research to develop carbon satellite to enhance emission monitoring and carbon credit integrity. During the project we received many needs on the applications of these novel satellite technologies on climate hazard, climate risk and carbon related solutions. These experience inspired me to develop solutions to solve the emerging climate change problems and the heavy economic impacts they created on governments, enterprises and public.
