On November 3, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring event at the Tsang Shiu Tim Art Hall, bringing together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovative thinkers. The evening began with a warm welcome from Prof. Tim Cheng, Vice-President for Research and Development at HKUST, who set the stage for a dynamic discussion on entrepreneurship and innovation.
Following Prof. Cheng's remarks, Mr. Hendrick Sin, MH, JP, Founding Partner and Chairman of China Prosperity Capital, delivered an insightful opening speech that focused on the various policies and support initiatives from the Chinese government aimed at fostering entrepreneurship. His discussion provided valuable context for the evening’s theme and inspired many attendees.
We were then privileged to hear from Mr. King Ma, also a Founding Partner of China Prosperity Capital, who shared the full journey of starting a venture. He highlighted the challenges and pitfalls that startup founders may encounter, along with tactics for securing investment and practical tips for successfully founding a business. His insights resonated deeply and provided invaluable guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The event continued with a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Liang Zhu, Partner from China Prosperity Capital, featuring distinguished HKUST entrepreneurs, including Mr. Xin Jiyun, Founder & CEO of XMPlus, and Mr. Richard Mou, Co-Founder & CMO of SwitchBot. They shared their unique journeys, the challenges they faced, and insights into building successful ventures.
An exciting pitching session followed, where HKUST startup teams showcased their innovative ideas, including those from Plastivore Chain Limited, DBT Technology Limited, SmartCare Technology Co. Limited, LoonGaN Technology Co Limited, RAY, Hybay Semiconductor Limited, Vidi Labs, and AlGreen. This highlighted the incredible talent within our community.
As the evening wrapped up, attendees enjoyed a networking session with refreshments, allowing for meaningful connections and discussions.
