As a fitness enthusiast who constantly promoted mountain clean-up campaigns on social media, I found healthy eating challenging in Hong Kong because of false disclaimers of products, overpriced healthy food and busy schedules. Also, so much food was wasted in supply chain even before reaching the plates. Therefore, I decided to establish a truly healthy and sustainable functional food brand on 3 principles: healthy, convenient, less food waste. I reached out to Prof. Marshal Liu and was connected with his student, Matey, who specializes in food-tech, including freeze-drying tech, in his FYP. Driven by the shared passion, we officially formed Food With Benefits in late 2021, registered the company in May 2022, and launched officially in late 2022 at HKU and HKUST restaurants.

With the vision of "sharing joy with you and the planet we call home", we combine cutting-edge food science with circular economy principles to develop nutrient-dense, sustainable functional foods that help prevent and reduce food waste. Our whole-food smoothie powdersare designed for busy urban lifestyles, catering especially to fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals. Each serving delivers 1-2 portions of fruits/vegetables, packed with fiber, vitamins and minerals. With an extended shelf-life, each smoothie sachet prevents fruit spoilage in supply chains. Coming soon, we're launching the world's first upcycled, all-natural energy bars, made with spent grains from breweries and coffee shops, our signature Berry Bomb smoothie powder, and natural cacao.
