Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund
Ms. Cindy Chow, a HKUST MBA alumna currently serves as the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund (AEF).
Founded in 2015, AEF's mission is to empower Hong Kong-based entrepreneurs and youth to realize their dreams and visions for their businesses and communities. To fulfil this mission, AEF invests in startups and delivers a wide range of initiatives to foster innovation and entrepreneurship across the ecosystem.
Under AEF’s investment platform, the Fund has backed a number of well-known and high-value Hong Kong technology companies, including the enterprise payment platform Airwallex, digital insurance company AIFT, digital bank WeLab, and healthcare testing company Prenetics.
Cindy currently serves on multiple public and advisory bodies, including the InnoHK innovation and research platform, the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) under the Education Bureau, the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC). She also contributes to academia through roles with CUHK Innovation Limited and the HKUST Accounting Advisory Board.
As a certified public accountant, Cindy joined Alibaba Group in 2007 and has held senior roles in financial control and planning, most recently as Senior Director of International Finance, before assuming her current position. Prior to Alibaba Group, she worked in a number of Hong Kong listed companies, specialising in financing, management reporting, and strategic planning.

Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund (AEF) is a not-for-profit initiative founded by Alibaba Group. Its mission is to empower entrepreneurs and young people through investment capital and strategic guidance, helping them scale their startups and create positive impact in their communities.
In 2016, AEF launched its first sustainable HK$1 billion fund in Hong Kong to strengthen the local startup ecosystem. Since then, AEF has expanded its platform with two additional funds, extending its support to innovators across the Greater Bay Area and globally.
Through a range of tailored programs, AEF focuses on cultivating entrepreneurial talent, strengthening the startup ecosystem, and fostering valuable connections among corporations, investors, and emerging ventures - contributing to Hong Kong’s development as a world-class innovation and technology hub.
