I am a healthcare-focused entrepreneur and technologist with a background spanning medicine, corporate finance, and AI systems development. My journey to becoming a founder was driven by a conviction that Hong Kong and East Asia's healthcare sector needs homegrown technological solutions to remain globally competitive — rather than depending on foreign platforms that don't understand our clinical workflows, languages, or regulatory environment. After accumulating experience across both the corporate and clinical worlds, I recognized that the AI and robotics era was creating a narrow window of opportunity to build something meaningful before the industry consolidated around a few dominant players. That realization pushed me to take the leap and co-found SmartCare with the HKUST Smart Lab team. SmartCare builds multimodal large language model solutions specifically for the Hong Kong and Greater China healthcare market — covering clinical documentation, AI-assisted consultation, intelligent voice customer service, and social welfare policy platforms. We support Cantonese, Mandarin, and English natively, and integrate directly with existing hospital EHR and insurance systems. I am passionate about bridging computer science research with real-world clinical practice, and I actively engage with communities including AMS, St. John, HKIS, HKPASEA, and the UoM AMBS MBA alumni network to build the ecosystem around healthcare innovation in Hong Kong.
