Eric Yung is a serial entrepreneur, technology innovator, and business leader with over 20 years of experience spanning artificial intelligence, education technology, digital media, travel, and events. He holds a BEng and MPhil in Electronic Engineering and an MBA from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), as well as an LLB from the University of London. He was also a co-founder and former Executive Director and CTO of Perception Digital, one of the earliest HKUST-founded startups to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Eric is the founder of Playnote and Prodeep Group, two ventures operating across technology, education, travel, events, and lifestyle sectors. His entrepreneurial journey focuses on leveraging innovation and technology to enhance learning, cultural exchange, and community engagement.
Beyond his entrepreneurial activities, Eric actively contributes to the development of the startup ecosystem and business education. He worked with MBA/MSc Career and Professional Development of the HKUST Business School for entrepreneurship education and is a columnist for the HKUST MBA Column in the Hong Kong Economic Journal, where he writes on topics including artificial intelligence, intellectual property, innovation, and business strategy. He is also a frequent speaker, mentor, and commentator on technology, entrepreneurship, and the future impact of AI on society.
