The HKUST Entrepreneurship Center recently hosted a Pitching Practice Session under its Mentorship Network, providing startup teams with an opportunity to strengthen their presentation skills and receive feedback from experienced mentors.
As part of the session, six startup teams delivered concise three-minute pitches followed by two-minute question-and-answer segments. The format encouraged participants to communicate their business concepts clearly and effectively while responding to questions in a limited timeframe, simulating real-world pitching scenarios commonly encountered in startup competitions, investor meetings, and business development opportunities.
Through the pitching exercise, teams refined their value propositions, business models, and presentation techniques. The session also provided a platform for founders to test their ideas, identify areas for improvement, and gain practical insights into effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Participants received feedback from a panel of mentors, including Daniel Csontos, Mike Kwok, Brian Wong, Sandy Yip, Yousaf Masud, and Elizabeth Wong. Drawing on their professional and entrepreneurial experience, the mentors shared perspectives on business strategy, market positioning, storytelling, and pitch delivery, helping teams further develop their venture concepts and presentation approaches.
The session formed part of the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center's ongoing efforts to support founders through mentorship, founder engagement, and experiential learning opportunities. By connecting startup teams with experienced industry professionals, the Mentorship Network aims to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and guidance needed to navigate different stages of venture development.
The HKUST Entrepreneurship Center continues to foster a collaborative environment where founders can refine their ideas, strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities, and build meaningful connections within the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
