A delegation of HKUST startups participated in the Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH) 2026, presenting innovative healthcare technologies and solutions to industry leaders, investors, healthcare professionals, and ecosystem partners from across the region.

The participating teams represented a broad spectrum of health technology sectors, including biotechnology, digital health, diagnostics, medical devices, and artificial intelligence. Through the exhibition and networking activities, founders had opportunities to showcase their technologies, exchange insights with industry stakeholders, and explore collaboration and business development opportunities.

As part of the programme, Professor Tim Cheng, Vice-President for Research and Development of HKUST, delivered a sharing session on "Trends and Industry Practices of Innovative Drugs in China." The session provided participants with perspectives on developments within the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as opportunities emerging from advances in medical innovation and technology commercialization.

In parallel with ASGH, HKUST startup Lulusmiles participated in the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair, further demonstrating the diversity of healthcare innovations emerging from the HKUST entrepreneurship community.

The event also generated opportunities for startups to establish new industry connections and engage with potential investors, customers, and strategic partners. Several teams initiated discussions on prospective collaborations, while Allegrow Biotech Limited formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the event, marking an important step in the company's business development journey.

Participating ventures included Allegrow Biotech, AUISET Biotechnology, Cognitact, PanopticAI, and other HKUST-founded startups developing solutions to address challenges across healthcare and life sciences. Their participation highlighted the growing impact of university-born innovations in improving patient care, advancing medical technologies, and supporting the future development of the healthcare sector.

ASGH provides an important platform for startups, healthcare organizations, investors, and policymakers to exchange ideas and explore emerging opportunities in global health. Through participation in international exhibitions and industry events, HKUST startups are able to increase market exposure, strengthen ecosystem connections, and accelerate the translation of research and innovation into real-world applications.
