HKUST Start-up EventX raises $78 million in Series B funding

HKUST Start-up EventX has closed a HKD78 million Series B funding, co-led by HTC Corporation and Gaocheng Capital.

EventX has attracted more than 5 million attendees in over 20,000 online, hybrid and offline events across 125 regions since the outbreak of COVID-19. The team has supported global brands in organizing virtual events including online exhibitions and seminars.  Through forming strategic alliance with HTC VIVE, EventX will reinvent the virtual event experience by integrating events with virtual reality (VR) technology. Enterprises can engage with the users effectively via different tools, such as computers, tablets and smartphones. This integration will result in bringing virtual and hybrid event experience to a new level of immersion and interactivity. To support industries in developing marketing channels, EventX will release FREE virtual lite platform for NGOs, SMEs and Startups to register and organize events.

EventX will continue to expand the business in Asian market, develop virtual exhibition solutions and design structure to tackle internet firewalls issue to facilitate cross-region events.
