AlgoBlocks is a highly intuitive no-code tool that enables individual investors to make sophisticated and automated trades in DeFi – including highly coveted “arbitrage trades”. Think of us as the “Zapier” for DeFi trading to put together blocks of algorithms that form instructions for trade(s). Traders can also be part of a larger trading community to learn and earn by sharing their winning algorithms with other traders.

AlgoBlocks is looking for a Head of Engineering to build our product and a lean, mean engineering team in Hong Kong. This person will have tremendous responsibilities and exposure from Day 1 as part of the founding member of AlgoBlocks. This full-time position is based in Hong Kong and will report to the Founder.
The person should preferably be located in Hong Kong already with a valid work permit.
Temporary remote working possible for only select candidates but with the view to relocate to Hong Kong as soon as possible. (When the Covid related travel restrictions go away)
Responsibilities
- Head of engineering role in also providing thought leadership and technical representation of AlgoBlocks (Including the fund-raising process and other PR drives). You are not just an engineering head – you will be the technical face of AlgoBlocks.
- Recruit and scale an engineering team appropriate at each stage of the growth cycle of AlgoBlocks. (E.g. A team suitable for building a MVP, 1st launch etc)
- Ability to conceptualize and translate capital markets trading technology concepts to crypto trading.
- Perform hands-on design, prototypes and proofs-of-concept and development as required in blockchain technology (Essential)
- Establish the environments in which blockchain solutions can be implemented, including dev, testing, and production environments
- Collaborate with local and overseas development teams
- Participate in the large scale blockchain technical solutions and full development life cycle
- Provide support to various testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing
Qualifications
- Soft Skills
- Self-starter with passion for learning about new technology and the ability to roll up sleeves – knowing how to build lean and iterate until a strong, scalable productmarket fit is achieved.
- Experience in cryptocurrency market, startup environment and passion for cryptocurrency industry (Essential)
- Experience or strong knowledge of DeFi (Essential)
- Understanding crypto trading and financial trading strategies (Highly Preferred)
- Passionate about programming and problem-solving in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent verbal/written communication, strong interpersonal and presentation skills – including being a good PR and spokesperson for the firm in the region
- Strong knowledge and connections in the Indian crypto market a plus – given the SEA market is part of the GTM strategy
- Technical Skills
- Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science or related discipline (Masters preferred)
- At least 2-3 years practical work experience in Cryptocurrency Software Development and Information Technology
- Experience in Solidity, ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155 is a huge plus
- Knowledge of GIT or other source code management tool
- Experience or knowledge of derivative trading applications a plus
- Solid Experience in JAVA, Node.js, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Spring boot
- Experience in Rest API and any NoSQL DB is highly desired
- Experience in programming smart contract on Hyperledger Fabric is an advantage
- Experience in build and manage Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Familiar with Window server and Linux (Ubuntu)
- Familiar with Cloud solution deployment and administration

Salary
Up to USD 139,000 per annum Base.
KPI based Token Options and Participation in ESOP (Significant 2 digit share for the right candidate)
