HKUST-GBA Learning Trip to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong (Feb 2024)

A 4-day HKUST-GBA Learning Trip to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong is designed for HKUST (CWB) and HKUST(GZ) students to get more understanding on the startups eco-system in Mainland and Hong Kong, facilitate cross regional collaboration on innovation and enhance their competitiveness for future development in GBA cities. Through this trip, participants are not only to explore the opportunities and challenges in visiting cities, but also build network and have cultural exchange with HKUST(GZ) students and meet HKUST entrepreneurs. It strengthens the spirit of 1-HKUST and foster entrepreneurial spirit to make social impact in future.

Target participants：

• Aged 18 - 40 HKUST students, alumni, faculty and staff
• Priority will be given to HKUST current students and/or building startups
   

Participation fee:

• FREE (Refundable deposit: HKD 500）
  
  *Participants are required to attend the pre-trip briefing, WHOLE learning trip, other planned activities and submit the report by deadline before getting the refundable deposit.
  
  *If participant is international student who required to have China Entry Visa, please pay attention to the application need time and fee, Visa application fee is required to bear by the participant.

Pre-trip Briefing：21 Feb 2024 (Wed)  (only participants will be invited)

Learning Trip：28 Feb - 2 Mar 2024 (Wed - Sat)

Report submission: mid of Mar 2024

Tentative Itinerary：

1. Training session on Design Thinking, Pitch Skills etc.
2. Themed sharing eg. Startups eco-system in HK & Mainland, support scheme on entrepreneurship
3. Sharing by experienced HKUST entrepreneurs (real cases, challenges, opportunities)
4. Company visits
5. Cultural exchange activities with HKUST (GZ) students

 Medium of Instruction： English (May be supplemented by Mandarin in some occasions)

Result announcement:

1. Result will be sent to your ITSC email address in late of Jan 2024.
2. Participants who accepted the offer are required to pay the deposit as stated on the result email to secure the seats. The paid deposit will be refunded to you upon successfully completion of the trip requirement.
3. Paid deposit will not be refunded if the participant was failed to complete the trip requirement/ absence due to personal reason/ withdrawal before departure of the trip.
